Understanding General Practice, Michael Wright Local Medical Council
Following negative and damaging coverage about general practice in the media, our Chief Executive Michael Wright, has produced a video to help patients understand some of the unique challenges that practices face daily. You can access the video here if you wish to share it on your social platforms to help raise awareness and understanding amongst your patient populations.
The Institute of General Practice Management (IGPM) has also put a video together to raise awareness of the abuse that practice staff receive from patients. You can access their video here.

The Covid-19 vaccination programme has begun. When it is your turn to be vaccinated, the NHS will contact you. Please do not contact the NHS.

In Nottingham and Nottinghamshire, a few different health and care organisations including hospitals, GP practices, care homes and others are working together on the Covid-19 vaccination programme. This means when it is your turn to be vaccinated, this may not be at your GP practice. You will be told where to go for your appointment and how to book.

In line with expert guidance, the priority groupings for the vaccination are being followed.

We understand a lot of people want to be vaccinated and would like to reassure you this will happen. Please be patient and wait to be contacted.

For further information on why you are being asked to wait for your Covid-19 vaccine, please read the information on the GOV.UK Website

Churchside Medical Practice is a Training Practice consisting of 5 GP partners, 3 female, 2 male. All the Partners have the qualifications you would expect of your General Practitioner plus many additional ones in order to teach the next generation of doctors. All five partners have a wealth of experience in general practice  but are still constantly striving to deliver up to date and relevant healthcare for the current and the next generations.

If you have a fever or new continuous cough, loss of smell or taste please DO NOT attend the surgery, go to where you can carry out a self-assessment which will give you further advice.

DO NOT present at the Practice until a Doctor, Nurse or Receptionist has spoken to you. All online appointment booking has been suspended until further notice. If you are asked to attend the practice by a clinician we will be taking your temperature and asking screening questions, before you enter the building. It is also a mandatory requirement that you bring and wear a face covering whilst in the building.

Visit for full guidance on staying alert.

This is in line with recent government guidance to keep patients and the population safe.

Thank you for your co-operation and understanding
